The Greatest College Football Helmet Contest Ever
Every Division. Every Conference. Every Team. Every Helmet.
Each college football team competes in their football Conference polls to determine Conference Champions. Voting in the National Championship bracket then determines the Helmet Bowl Champion.
Voting is open to anyone with access to HelmetBowl.com. Access is free and does not require sign-in. Voters can cast a vote in every active contest daily beginning November 9, 2020.
Helmet Bowl Conference Play and Conference Championships
Teams are placed in their own football Conference bracket poll to begin Helmet Bowl IV Conference play. Votes are tallied for three weeks.
All votes count.
During the conference play, Helmet Tracker will conduct various head-to-head voting competitions on Twitter or Instagram. Votes earned on social media will be added to the final conference play votes.
Then, the top vote-getters from the top to 50 Conference are seeded in their Helmet Bowl IV National bracket.
Helmet Tracker will select 16 at-large schools into the National Round. The most active teams get a shot to play in the National Champ.
Conference Champions will be crowned Monday, November 30, 2020.
Helmet Bowl IV National Championship
The top 50 Helmet Bowl IV Conference Champions, determined by vote totals in Conference bracket play, advance to the National Championship bracket. Seeding (1 through 15) is based first on four geographic regions, and then vote totals in Conference bracket play.
The final fourteen slots in the National Championship bracket are determined by the Helmet Bowl IV selection committee. These play-in teams may or may not be Conference Champions.
The 64-team bracket, launched Monday, December 7, 2020, pits teams against each other in one-week, single-elimination polling contests ending with a championship contest between the two remaining teams in early January 2021.
The Helmet Bowl IV Champion will be crowned Monday, January 12, 2021.
Equipment Managers and Sports Information Directors
A team’s Equipment Manager and Sports Information Director have the option to send new/updated helmet images throughout the contest. We encourage new helmet images to match the helmets their team will wear on the football field that week. Helmet Tracker will work to update the helmet images as soon as possible upon receiving them.
Helmet Tracker reserves the right to adjust or change the rules at any time. Any rule adjustments and changes will be announced through normal social media and/or updates to this page.
No auto-vote mechanisms are allowed.
