Helmet Tracker is always at your service.
History
After meeting the needs of one high school football coach in Dallas, Texas who was spending inordinate time and paper to inventory equipment, we refocused our web-building business to meet the needs of the sports equipment industry to reduce administrative time and improve equipment tracking processes.
That’s when things took off, from Texas to Washington state, from Florida to California, Massachusetts, Ohio, Colorado, and all points in between.
One Friday over a lunch of Manicotti, Rich convinced Rick to knock on the office door and introduce ourselves to the NOCSAE Executive Director, Mike Oliver. Our plan to drop off business cards turned into an afternoon of a shared vision: to leverage and information on equipment used to help improve the overall safety of football.
Soon, NOCSAE launched a three-year pilot to build the NOCSAE Helmet Tracking database now used by manufacturers, reconditioners, leagues, schools, colleges, and professional teams. With our software, NOCSAE tracks the full life-cycle and recertification history of each helmet, from its manufacturing date to its retirement date ten years later. We are tracking over 3 million helmets today.
The Future
We offer two equipment software applications that help manage inventory and equipment for all different sports and sizes of organizations. Equipment Ops app is designed for athletic directors, equipment managers, and coaches and our HelmetTracker app is built for athletic equipment reconditioning and manufacturing companies.
In addition to providing software applications services, our team also designs and builds custom solutions for enterprise customers and innovative equipment managers who are making a difference in improving the safety of all athletes.
We will continue to seek and value simplicity, clarity, ease-of-use, and up-front honesty. This goes for our services and our company. We always focus and refocus on the aspects that are important and necessary, and we like to stick to the basics. Like good old-fashioned block and tackle football, we focus on the fundamentals. And, we know no one-size-fits-all. You won’t find us reselling generic, off-the-shelf inventory software. We build and configure our solutions to fit our customers well.
2021 marks our 9th year in business, yet this feels like just the beginning for us.
Helmet Bowl
In 2017, Helmet Tracker created and sponsored the first National football helmet championship. We started a contest with 76 football conferences and 777 football teams. On January 8th, 2018, we crowned the first national helmet champion, Gallaudet University. It has been a fun and exciting contest. There are not too many places you can see a DIII school destroy a famous DI school, every team is on a level playing field.
It's a great come from behind victory and a great story. We look forward to what's in store for 2020. Trivia– Gallaudet invented the “Huddle“.
- January 9th, 2019, we crowned the second national helmet champion, Dickinson Red Devils. our 2nd DIII school.
- January 13th, 2020, we crowned the third national helmet champion, Nebraska Kearney Lopers. Our first DII school.
- January 18th, 2021 we crowned the fourth national helmet champion, Iowa State Cyclones, our first DI school.
