The Greatest College Football Helmet Contest Ever
Every Division. Every Conference. Every Team. Every Helmet.
Each college football team competes in their football Conference polls to determine Conference Champions. Voting in the National Championship bracket then determines the Helmet Bowl Champion.
Voting is open to anyone with access to HelmetBowl.com. Access is free and does not require sign-in. Voters can cast a vote in every active contest daily beginning September 9th, 2019.
Conference Play and Conference Championships
Teams are placed in their own football Conference bracket poll to begin Helmet Bowl III Conference play. Votes are tallied for three weeks. Then, the top four vote-getters from each Conference are seeded in their Helmet Bowl III Conference bracket. From there, they compete in a two-week, head-to-head, single-elimination contest.
Conference Champions will be crowned Monday, November 11, 2019.
Helmet Bowl III National Championship
The top 60 Helmet Bowl III Conference Champions, determined by vote totals in Conference bracket play, advance to the National Championship bracket. Seeding (1 through 15) is based first on four geographic regions, and then vote totals in Conference bracket play.
The final four slots in the National Championship bracket (one per region) are determined by the winners of the four regional play-in brackets. Play in brackets are populated by four teams in each region as determined by a Helmet Bowl III selection committee. These play-in teams may or may not be Conference Champions.
The 64-team bracket, launched Monday, December 2, 2019, pits teams against each other in one-week, single-elimination polling contests ending with a championship contest between the two remaining teams in early January 2019.
The Helmet Bowl II Champion will be crowned Monday, January 13, 2019.
Equipment Managers and Sports Information Directors
A team’s Equipment Manager and Sports Information Director have the option to send a new/updated helmet images throughout the contest. We encourage new helmet images match the helmets their team will wear on the football field that week. Helmet Tracker will work to update the helmet images as soon as possible upon receiving them.
Helmet Tracker reserves the right to adjust or change the rules at any time. Any rule adjustments and changes will be announced through normal social media and/or updates to this page.
No auto-vote mechanisms are allowed.
