There, the Georgia Southern Eagles lead he Texas State – San Marcos Bobcats by a bit more than 100 votes. It's all close – and remember, the top four teams in each Conference will advance to their own Helmet Bowl III Conference Championship bracket. The rest, well, they go home.

Bottom 10
Though Conference play votes will not factor into which Conference Champions make it into the Helmet Bowl III National Championship bracket, the bottom ten will have a very difficult time. These are the conferences with the least number of votes, so far. Any of them could rise. Remember, the 60 Conference Champions with the most votes in their respective championship bracket will automatically be seeded into the National Championship. The remaining 20 Conference Champions may or may not be slated into the four regional play-in brackets.

Great Northwest Athletic Conference
There is only one Conference which will advance all of its teams into the Conference Championship bracket – that's the Great Northwest Athletic Conference with four teams. It currently ranks 59th in voting.
Mid-South Conference
Conversely, the conference which will leave behind the most teams, the Mid-South Conference, will leave 18 teams behind when its top four advance to its championship bracket.
Currently, the Faulkner Eagles and Kentucky Christian Knights are tied in voting for the lead. Vote in the Mid-South.

Final Four Check-in
Let's find out how the National Champion finalists from the past Helmet Bowl's doing.
Helmet Bowl I:

National Champion Gallaudet Bison, in the Eastern Collegiate, holds a substantial lead.

Runner up San Diego State, in the Mountain West, lead the Wyoming Cowboys by just three votes.

The Kennesaw State Owls, in very tight Big South voting, are just four votes shy of the lead, but also just eight votes shy of being eliminated. This is anyone's conference!

The Central Michigan Chippewas, in the Mid-American, currently struggle. This conference has a whole pile of great helmets. The Chips sit ninth of twelve teams. However, in Helmet Bowl, one week can make all the difference!
Helmet Bowl II:

Defending National Champion Dickinson Red Devils, in the Centennial Conference, find themselves in fourth place, WAY behind Johns Hopkins, and in danger of elimination. But the Devils are a surprising team with a strong fan base. Watch out.

HB2 Runner Up Tulsa Golden Hurricane, in the American Athletic, would be the first team eliminated if HB3 Conference voting ended now. They are in fifth, but just nine votes short of the fourth-place East Carolina Pirates.

The Maine Golden Bears, in the Colonial, hold a precarious fourth place in a great slate of helmets. Will they qualify for the Conference Championship bracket?

The Southeastern Oklahoma Savage Storm, in the Great American, have a comfortable lead there. This is also a strong conference with a lot of great helmets.
